From passion to profession

“Aevig” is Old Norse and means “eternal”.

The brand was founded in 2013 by Chip Yuen, a long-time watch collector and avid fan of vintage watches from the 1950s to 1970s. His collecting led him to the world's largest watch community, Watchuseek, where Chip eventually designed two project watches and began his journey toward his own watch company.

For Chip, designing watches is more about details than technical specifications. With a background in art, design, film, and, surprisingly, Chinese food (a family business), Chip understands the importance of nuances that can make a decisive difference in a design.

Elements that define a category are selected and analyzed, the best shape for comfort and aesthetics is drawn and, last but not least, function is not neglected.
All designs are retro and vintage inspired, with a timeless elegance that results in contemporary styling with a nod to the past. The watches are equipped with modern materials and, depending on the model, feature a wide range of functions.

In the coming years, Aevig will gradually build a complete range of watches, ranging from dress watches to chronographs. All with the same attention to detail and retro styling that defines an Aevig watch.
