The Vulcain watchmaking company was founded in 1858 and is the inventor of the alarm complication for wristwatches. This innovation made Vulcain watches world-famous and popular with many American presidents, starting with Harry S. Truman. This fact earned the brand the reputation as "The Watch for Presidents".
