Since its inception, Maison Perrelet has shaped the world of watchmaking with continuous innovations that reflect a boldness deeply rooted in its identity and values. As the creator of the automatic watch almost 250 years ago, Perrelet has carefully preserved its pioneering, avant-garde spirit, demonstrating exceptional technical expertise in the development of its chronometers.

Strict technical standards and the highest precision form the supporting pillars of their self-image – always in service of a clear vision: to preserve and carry into the future the watchmaking legacy of their legendary founder Abraham-Louis Perrelet and his successors, including Louis Frédéric Perrelet.

  • 1777 – Automatic MOVEMENT

    from In the 1770s, Abraham-Louis Perrelet focused on perfecting a system that would run indefinitely after a single initial impulse. It was in 1777 that he developed his truly revolutionary invention – the self-winding or automatic clock. MOVEMENTTo this day, no one has been able to improve the drive of mechanical calibers; his invention continues to leave its mark on the history of watchmaking.

  • 1780 – First pedometer

    Abraham-Louis Perrelet develops the first pedometer and is the first to build one. watches with cylinder, duplex, calendar and compensating anchors. He continues to work on refining the gear trains and improving the balance springs, gears, the compensating anchor and his unique automatic winding mechanism.

  • 1827 – Chronograph counter

    At the French industrial product exhibition, he presented a chronograph counter for physics and astronomy with a reverse-action hand. This model, for which a patent was officially applied for in March 1828, earned him a medal from the Académie des Sciences in 1830.


    1834 – Knight of the Legion of Honour

    As a testament to his reputation throughout Europe, Louis-Frédéric Perrelet's talent and perseverance, in addition to numerous gold medals, earned him the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honour.

  • 1995 – Double Rotor

    The House of Perrelet developed, perfected, and produced the first so-called "double rotor" caliber: a unique system of its kind that combines the oscillating weight of the automatic system with a rotor on the dial side. The Dipteros model then heralded an important phase for the brand's future and paved the way for future new and exclusive developments.

  • 2009 – Turbine-Modell

    Perrelet presents the emblematic Turbine model. Inspired by the so-called “twin rotor”MOVEMENT The rotating mass on the dial side transforms into a propeller, whose high rotational speed leaves a lasting impression. The turbine thus opens the door to artistic and horological creations that are unique and authentic.

  • 2012 – Caliber P-321

    Perrelet takes a decisive further step towards autonomy by adapting and equipping most of its chronometers with the P-321 caliber, the first in-house manufactured movement. MOVEMENT, which was entirely developed and manufactured in their own workshops. New horological complications will be added to this basic caliber in subsequent years. Perrelet achieves complete production autonomy, thereby securing its creative freedom and horological legitimacy.

  • 2013 – Turbine Chrono & Turbillon

    Perrelet presents the Turbine Chrono, demonstrating its creative ability to combine the turbine effect with a watchmaking complication. In the same year, Perrelet also launches its "Turbillon" model, a clever combination of the turbine with a tourbillon caliber manufactured in its own workshops. With these two remarkable innovations, Perrelet provides irrefutable proof of its watchmaking expertise and its ability to continually reinvent its "turbine" concept.

  • 2014 – Turbine Pilot

    The turbine is gaining altitude. The company presents the Turbine Pilot: a tribute to the world of aviation, which, just like its watchmaking counterparts, is based on a blend of risk and calculation. This collection features a turbine combined with an aviation slide rule. In the same year, Perrelet presents its Turbine Skeleton watch model, which combines the characteristic titanium wheel with its ten blades of the Turbine collection with a fully in-house manufactured skeleton movement.MOVEMENT combined.

  • 2015 – First Class Double Rotor Skeleton

    Perrelet celebrates the 20th anniversary of its iconic double rotor concept. With the First Class Double Rotor Skeleton collection, equipped with a handcraftedMOVEMENT, Caliber P-481, Perrelet combines the watchmaking tradition of its innovative double rotor with its knowledge in the field of skeleton watch movements.

  • 2019 – Turbine Evo

    The Turbine collection celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019. To commemorate this significant milestone, Perrelet is launching the TURBINE EVO with a completely redesigned look and new in-house...MOVEMENT The Turbine EVO is launched with the P-331-MH caliber. It is housed in a new, sporty and elegant case, now featuring a stainless steel bracelet. For the first time in its ten-year history, all movements in this collection are COSC-certified, demonstrating their high precision in timekeeping after a comprehensive series of tests.

  • 2024 - Chronofactum will be a supplier for Perrelet

    After we watches Having seen Perrelet live for the first time at a small Italian trade fair, we were impressed by the brand's creativity and innovative spirit. It was clear that we had to include this brand in our portfolio. Even though Perrelet isn't a watch brand that would be considered a classic microbrand, its exceptional models fit perfectly into our portfolio of microbrands, independent brands, and distinctive watch manufacturers.
