ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Ollech Wajs OW RALLYCHRON
In collaboration with Hervé Charbonneaux - classic car collector, rally driver, historic rally organizer and author - has Ollech & Wajs Set the perfect lap times for each route. The 1965-69 racing seasons were analyzed in detail, four years in which some of Ollech & Wajs' most sought-after racing chronographs were introduced. Charbonneaux's extensive archives took into account the lap times and other data of a cross-section of Grand Prix cars from the period - including the Ferrari 312, the Cooper Maserati and the McLaren M4B - as well as the performances of the various drivers. This was not an easy undertaking as the racing conditions varied greatly from competition to competition and the track lengths, surfaces and configurations also changed. The theoretical measurements engraved on the bezel will undoubtedly lead to night-long debates among motorsport fans.
The Rallychron features the historic chronograph case characteristic of the most famous OW chronographs from this period, and its distinctive black and white checkered baton hands are a nod to the world-famous racing flag. In addition to minute and hour clocks, the watch features a tachymetric scale - a requirement for all racing chronos - which is used on the track to measure the speed and distance between competitors.
Under the hood of the Rallychron is a highly tuned and race-tested Valjoux 7753 automatic movement - a descendant of the historic Valjoux 72 that powered the best Swiss chronographs of the '60s and '70s, including several OWs. The movement is equipped with a rotor machined by OW. It is then regulated in five positions, adjusted and checked for accuracy, which qualifies it for the OW precision rating.
