Airain Type 21

The Airain Type 21 is inspired by a vintage model from the 1960s, das bei einer Auktion von Sotheby's wiederentdeckt wurde.
The model arose from the French Ministry of Defense's desire in 1956 to improve the Type 20 to increase durability and ease maintenance. The Type 21 features a glossy black dial with Grade X1 “Old Radium” luminescence.

The watch brand Airain

The watch manufacturer Montres Airain was founded in 1934 by the esteemed Dodane family and gained recognition for its reliable and high-quality timepieces. In the 1950s and 1960s, Airain (along with Breguet and Dodane) was one of the selected suppliers of the Type 20 model to the French Army. The designation Type 20 refers to a specification for pilot's chronographs issued by the French Ministry of Defense.

Besides the Type 20 chronograph, iconic models such as the "Sous-Marine" diver's watch and the Airain "77" from the 1950s are also part of Airain's heritage, which are still highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

Today, Airain is being relaunched, with a focus on carrying the brand's heritage into the future.
