Die Airain Type 21 ist von einem Vintage-Modell aus den 1960er Jahren inspiriert, das bei einer Auktion von Sotheby's wiederentdeckt wurde.
Das Modell entstand aus dem Wunsch des französischen Verteidigungsministeriums aus dem Jahr 1956, die Type 20 zu verbessern, um die Haltbarkeit zu erhöhen und die Wartung zu erleichtern. Die Type 21 verfügt über ein glänzendes schwarzes Zifferblatt mit „Old Radium“-Lumineszenz der Güteklasse X1.

The watch brand Airain

The watch manufacturer Montres Airain was founded in 1934 by the distinguished Dodane family and gained recognition for its reliable and high-quality timepieces. In the 1950s and 1960s, Airain (along with Breguet and Dodane) was one of the selected suppliers of the Type 20 model to the French Army. The Type 20 designation refers to a specification for pilot chronographs issued by the French Ministry of Defense.

In addition to the Type 20 chronograph, Airain's heritage also includes iconic models such as the "Sous-Marine" diver's watch and the Airain "77" from the 1950s, which remain highly sought after by collectors around the world.

Today, Airain is being relaunched with a focus on carrying the brand's heritage into the future.
