Since 1941, Marathon has manufactured timekeeping instruments for the Allied forces.   • The company, which would later become Marathon Watch, was founded in 1904 as “Weinstrum Watch” and later renamed “Wein Brothers”.

    In 1939, Morris Wein founded the Marathon Watch company and supplied fine precision timepieces throughout North America. The family photograph dates from 1892. Morris Wein, about one year old, is sitting on his father Hirsch Wein's lap.
