DESIGN
Paulin pursues an ambitious design approach – constantly seeking opportunities to break new ground both technically and aesthetically.
The latest collections were from
Inspired by art and architectural movements: The Geo collection was a tribute to Charles Rennie Mackintosh from Glasgow and his decorative lettering, which was a precursor to the Art Deco style.Paulinwatches then turned its attention to mid-century and postmodern design with its Neo collection. Both Art Deco and Postmodernism were reactions to the austere tastes of earlier generations, and Paulin's designers felt the same way.
the need to break away from minimalism and pursue a more playful style.

TYPOGRAPHY
Numbers are one of the first things considered when developing a new Paulin watch, and they often influence the rest of the design.
The distinctive Neo-numerals They were inspired by the influential Dutch designer Wim Crouwel, who created a typography based on systems and geometry. Scaling plays a crucial role in the design of the numerals, so the typography is continuously optimized throughout the prototyping phase to ensure it translates effectively into the final design. This guarantees legibility and clarity while preserving character and design intent. -

DIALS
An important part of the design of the dials is the choice of manufacturing process. For the Neo series Paulin opted for anodized aluminum – a significantly more variable process than usual – which meant the manufacturer had to be more open to changes. “Anodized dials can vary in color from batch to batch, so we ensure that the selected printing inks are easily legible across the entire color range.”
Regarding the dial design, the Paulin designers knew that the Paulin Neo should stand out from previous models. The combination of striking numerals, a minimalist dial layout, and vibrant color combinations has achieved this goal. -

HOUSING
The design of a watch case typically begins with a series of questions and challenges rather than purely aesthetic goals. With the Neo, the primary objective was to conceal the thickness of the movement. Therefore, a deep Hesalite crystal was chosen to maintain the slim profile of the metal case. Instead, the bezel was omitted and this area polished.
For its cases, Paulin places great importance on conducting a large part of the testing process in-house. 3D-printed prototypes are created, allowing the brand to test comfort, fit, and even assembly. This minimizes sample production in the factory, which can be costly, wasteful, and delay production.

POINTER
Custom-made hands are rather rare because their MANUFACTURING It is a costly and time-consuming process. However, the Paulin team has always believed that the design should be reflected in every element of the watch, and the hands are no exception.
Therefore, the brand creates a unified design by incorporating shapes and details from other parts of the watch, such as the numerals,
The design can be incorporated into the dial or the case. Skeletonized hands are popular because they visually connect the hands and the dial. -
